Tre Viet Restaurant’s exciting menu celebrates the punchy and explosive flavours of Vietnamese food – made only with fresh ingredients. Their shareable mixed platter is a perfect way to indulge all the meaty flavours of Vietnam!
Prompt & Efficient Service
Service is generally prompt and efficient, and the menu fairly extensive, if a little predictable and short on vegetable dishes. The kitchen prides itself on using fresh ingredients and the food reflects this – but we found ourselves needing to make liberal use of the table sauces provided (something that rarely happens in a Vietnamese restaurant). For example, a stunningly handsome, piled-high platter of sizzling seafood failed to measure up to its looks as, although perfectly cooked and a textural treat, it seemed almost totally devoid of added flavourings.
A Welcoming Feel
With the welcoming feel of a brasserie, this large, bright, airy and cool dining room – the walls decorated with painted murals of Vietnamese scenes and the ceiling hung with paper lanterns – is a pleasure to visit. This holds true even when the place is crowded, as it often is with a largely western clientele that includes a high percentage of fashionable locals.

"The Vietnamese food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, the service is sometimes alarmingly fast. Don't let anyone rush you, you'll want to eat everything including the garnish. I've been going here for 20 years and apart from a minor relocation from the original site 50 yards up the road nothing much has changed. But we still keep discovering new treats to go with our old favourites: salt and pepper squid, fresh spring rolls, rare beef salad, and anything with goat" - Robin
"I've been here three times now and each time it was the same - excellent food, excellent service! The restaurant has an ambience of (ahem) faded glory but is no worse for that! I've eaten in other Vietnamese restaurants but they're not quite up to Tre Viet. I can't recommend it too much - what could be wrong with really well prepared food and smiley friendly service? If you haven't tried Vietnamese cooking, this is the place to start (and probably finish)" - Charles
"I was shown this place by a friend and colleague of mine. We have been a couple of times now and I can not get enough of it. The food in this restaurant is just incredible! There is a range of dishes that are all traditional vietnamese. On this occasion we had the chicken baked in a clay pot (the sauce is amazing) and also catfish. Neither of us had eaten catfish before. The verdict...Delicious! This was a new dish that they were trying and, once finished, the manager approached us to see how it was. We both said that we would have it again. Overall this is a fantastic restaurant. The food isn't cheap but it isn't expensive either, considering it is all freshly cooked. If you fancy a change, then this is the place to go!!" - Martin
"What a great find! An extensive menu that offered lots of choice (possibly even too much!!) After making our selections we were not disappointed - the food was fresh, full of flavour and left us wanting to go back soon. Would highly recommend any of the vermicelli noodle dishes" - Bonny
